The Mirage 580 is the latest in design from our factory. It gives the paddler a stable boat with excellent tracking in all conditions from flat water to tough ocean passages. This kayak can go virtually anywhere and is extremely stable in all conditions. Many of these craft have travelled thousands of kilometres Mirage expeditions in Australia include 800km from Sydney to the Gold Coast, 1200km from Esperance to Perth, 1150km from Sydney to Hobart as well as a large number of 310km Bass Strait crossings from Victoria to Tasmania.

The 580 is equipped with three watertight hatches for maximum storage capacity. The fore and aft compartments provide huge storage capacity whilst the day hatch is offset and within easy reach for access while out on the water.

It has all the Mirage range of standard features such as maintenance free integrated rudder, flush deck fittings, adjustable foot controls, deck lines and an unsurpassed quality of finish.

The 580 is a fast kayak as can be seen by the race results under our articles page but it is principally designed as an expedition sea kayak for New Zealand and Australian open ocean conditions.
